National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
452 AM EDT Fri Apr 25 2025
...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, AVIATION, MARINE, FIRE WEATHER...
.SHORT TERM (TDY-SAT)...
Issued at 406 AM EDT Fri Apr 25 2025
A few low clouds currently visible on satellite across the state.
Light easterly winds and temperatures from low 60s to around 70
degrees near the coast. The dominant weather feature is a ridge
of high pressure that should keep fair weather over the peninsula
through the period. Mostly clear skies prevail with easterly winds
keeping sea breeze along the immediate coast. Afternoon
temperatures across the sunshine state climb up into the 90s
during this time. Elevated fire conditions will be in place as
very dry air remains in place.
&&
.LONG TERM (SUN-THU)...
Issued at 406 AM EDT Fri Apr 25 2025
By early next week, high pressure begins to weaken with temperatures
peaking on Sunday. By early next week, high pressure slowly moves
away as upper level disturbance approaches the region allowing
moisture to increase. This will increase rain chances Monday into
Tuesday. Guidance now supports a tad more of moisture available as
this weak front moves over the state. Not enough to support
widespread coverage, but maybe a shower or two especially along
and north of the I-4 corridor.
High pressure begins to build back into the end of the period.
Warm temperatures remain in place with highs in the 90s and
overnight lows in the 60s.
.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 140 AM EDT Fri Apr 25 2025
Prevailing VFR conditions remain with easterly winds in place
through most of the period. Winds increase by mid morning but are
expected to gradually decrease into the late afternoon and
evening. The sea breeze may struggle to make it too far inland
and there is potential for terminals south to not experience it.
&&
.MARINE...
Issued at 406 AM EDT Fri Apr 25 2025
Ridge of high pressure continues to dominate weather conditions
through the weekend. Winds increase to 10 to 15 knots from the
southeast in the offshore waters today but gradually decrease into
the weekend. Then, an approaching system will increase rain chances
of showers Monday and Tuesday.
&&
.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 406 AM EDT Fri Apr 25 2025
Area of high pressure stays in place across fire districts through
the weekend. Relative humidity values expected to be near or at
critical levels during this time. Easterly winds prevail and should
stay below 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph in some areas. Moisture
increases into early next week as disturbance approaches the region.
Good overnight recoveries and lack of winds should keep the need from
issuing any red flag warnings during this time.
